Last September 07, students and teachers of Caritas St. Joseph Secondary School and the F-STEM team gathered to kick off the workshop. The students and faculty were very excited and keen to start the workshop and engaged in ideation and brainstorming activities.
Students were also given hands-on experience in using the electronic circuit, POF textiles, bundling POF textiles and using a loom in integrating POF yarn into weave structures to provide hand working skills for the prototyping stage. For many students, it was their first time to use POF textiles, and many were inspired by the illuminative effects that the textile could offer for their projects.
Various groups brainstormed various AI solutions that tackled the client's physiologic challenges such as a skirt that indicates a POF textiles that located the client's location if any accident happens.
The students then presented their prototypes and ideas to Giulia Tomasello of the Royal College of Art, who commented on the impressive work of the students.
We are really impressed by the student's final result and look forward to seeing Caritas St. Joseph Secondary School student's work in the coming exhibition. Stay tuned!
