Following last week’s Fashion Stem workshop, teachers were tasked to further develop their ideas into prototypes and to present their work to their fellow teachers.
Teachers formed groups and jumped straight into the development stage. Through brainstorming, online research and discussion, groups found out daily-life problems experienced by elderly, and came up with a variety of innovative solutions using POF textiles and smart textiles.
In a quick prototyping session, teachers had to develop their prototypes and to prepare their pitch presentations for the afternoon session. Teachers had to present their products to their fellow teachers and to a panel of judges including Dr. Jeanne Tan and Anne Toomey, head of textiles at the Royal College of Art London. Tan and Toomey shared their comments on how groups could further develop their ideas and they excitement at the innovative and creative ways groups tackled challenges in the inclusive fashion and in the development of elderly needs.
