On April 11 students of The Chinese Foundation Secondary School participated in the first of a multi-day workshop entitled “Fashioning STEM for good: Inclusive fashion design and smart textiles for social good.” Led by Dr. Jeanne Tan and her team from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), students were introduced to core topics surrounding the Design-led STEM education.
Students were tasked to design clothes for themselves and experience how to indicate their needs from the design.
Shortly after, Dr. Miu Wong introduced the Electronic and Loom technique of the mini workshop, where students would have the opportunity to explore and research issues in their clients.
We are excited to see how the students develop their projects in the coming weeks!
